Matter of Balance: Fall Prevention Class
Many older adults have a fear of falling. People who develop this fear often limit their activities, which can result in physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater. Are you concerned about falls? Have you fallen in the past? Do you restrict your activities because of concerns about falling? Are you interested in improving flexibility, balance and strength? If so, the Person County Senior Center has a program for you! Join us in June and July for A Matter of Balance, an evidence-based program specifically designed to reduce the fear of falling and improve activity levels among older adults. It uses a variety of activities to teach fall prevention strategies. The Person County Senior Center and NC Cooperative Extension are teaming up to hold this eight-week class each Monday from June 1 - July 21.
