As we head into the New Year, we are often confronted with winter storms and inclimate weather so it is time to begin thinking about emergency preparedness for those winter storms and power outages. Does your family have a plan about what they will do in the next few days if we experience a natural disaster? The NC Extension Service has information to help your family prepare before a disaster.

Anytime we experience a natural disaster or in-climate weather that makes people lose power at their homes, the calls we often receive are about food safety and whether or not the food in their refrigerator/freezer is food safe.
