This short, turn row field day will highlight two speakers discussing both past and up and coming corn research! NC State's Dr. Chad Poole will discuss his water resiliency research in corn hybrids, where he performed variety trials in drier than normal, ideal, and wet stressed conditions and monitored different varietal responses. He will also discuss subsurface drainage systems and how they can be implemented on your farm. Field Crops Agent Mikayla Berryhill will discuss starter fertilizers and biological products in corn, and highlight a local research trial looking at these different products.
