Tobacco
- The 2024 Tobacco Official Variety Trial (OVT) results can be found below:
- Person County Tobacco Greenhouse Trial – Treatments included different tray types (black plastic and white Styrofoam ) and fertility timing (7 days after seeding and 14 days after seeding)
Corn

- Northern Piedmont Regional Agent Variety Trial – The extension agents of Person, Granville, Caswell, and Alamance Counties worked together to put out a replicated corn variety trial.
- 2024 Water Resiliency Corn Hybrid Trials – Trials are designed to test different corn hybrids in drowned, optimum and drought situations.
Soybeans

- 2024 Soybean On-Farm Trial Program – Growth Habits – the On-Farm Trial program is a cooperation between the NC Soybean Producers Association and Cooperative Extension that leverages the local touchpoints of extension agents for large-scale, on-farm trials that supplement small plot data from NC State University. This year, agents across the state tested both indeterminate and determinate soybeans in the same maturity group and of similar yield potential to see if there is a yield benefit. This is the local Person County Data.

Wheat
