- Join our 4-week Falls Prevention Series every Monday in September at 10:30 a.m., starting September 9th. The series will take place at the Person County Senior Center and will feature information on home hazards, balance and exercise, medications, footwear, vision, and more.
- Join us for our 10-week, twice a week Bingocize class at the South Granville Senior Center. Classes are at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays, September 17th – November 22nd. Bingocize strategically combines the game of bingo, exercise, and health education. Trained lay leaders will teach twice a week workshops that focus on falls prevention. Groups of participants play Bingocize® twice per week, with each 45-60 minute session consisting of exercises (range of motion, balance, muscle strengthening, and endurance exercises) and/or health education questions. Prizes and participant materials will be available.
- Interested in learning new tips, tools and gadgets to help you cook easier, healthier, and more often for your family? Bring your lunch and learn how to “Cook With Ease” during this virtual workshop on Tuesday, September 10th at 12:00 p.m.! Register for this workshop at go.ncsu.edu/fcsregistration
- This months Lunch N’ Learn workshop is focused on “Culinary Spices & Herbs”.We will discuss different herbs and spices, health benefits, food pairings, and explore new recipes. An informative presentation will be given along with a healthy, delicious lunch. We are well aware that cooking with herbs and spices will help reduce the salt intake of our participants, helping with various chronic conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure, etc. Join us for this in-person workshop on Wednesday, September 11 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.. We have secured a sponsor for this workshop but you must register by calling us to put your name down on our list.
- Falls affect us all. There are simple steps you can take to prevent falls and decrease falls risks. Join us at the North Granville Senior Center in Stovall on Tuesday, September 17 at 10:00 a.m.. Call 919-693-3383 to register for this workshop.

Mark your calendars and get your aprons ready! “Get the Dish!” will take place each week Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Eastern Time, starting September 24th and going through November 19th. - We will host a Fall Meal Planning workshop at the Berea Branch Public Library on Friday, September 27 at 1:00 p.m.. Come learn how to plan meals for the fall season, benefits of having a versatile pantry, ways to organize and keep track of food, and a variety of meals that can be prepared from a set of staple ingredients.
