As of Wednesday, September 4th, Person County 4-H Agent Lexi Swick will be leaving N.C. Cooperative Extension, Person County Center to return to teaching English at Person High School. She has the following message to share with the community:

“It has been a pleasure to serve as Person County’s 4-H Agent over the last year and eight months. I have learned an incredible amount in my short time here and am infinitely grateful for the connections I have made through my work. I did not grow up in 4-H or around agriculture. As a result, I have continually leaned on my colleagues, 4-H club leaders, and 4-H volunteers for their expertise in the field. I am not from Person County. I’m not even from North Carolina, yet I have felt welcomed by locals and community partners alike. I have lived in Person County for three years, but serving as this county’s 4-H Agent has given me a place in the community and somewhere to call home. Thank you.

I look forward to returning to the classroom, where I will serve Person County’s youth in a different capacity. I will continue promoting 4-H in my role as a teacher and as a Person County 4-H volunteer.

After September 4th, please direct all questions and concerns regarding Person County 4-H to the County Extension Director, Bo Freeman (lrfreem3@ncsu.edu; 336-599-1195).”
