Crop Report for Week of June 14, 2021

— Written By

The rains last week helped tremendously and helped to move crops along in both Person and Granville Counties. Some areas received more than others but overall it was a good rain. Moth counts were up for tobacco budworm, cutworm, and stinkbugs. Sugar cane aphid counts are starting to accelerate on sorghum and forage-type crops. Most farmers are finishing up with soybeans, weeding tobacco, and getting ready to harvest wheat. Soybeans are creating more uniformity and filling in blank spots better. Scout your fields see what is happening!
