Collapse ▲The 4-H Feather Classic poultry project is returning for 2023. Do you know a youth interested in chickens? This is the project for them. Participating youth will receive chicks in April, care for them throughout the late spring, summer and early fall and then exhibit them in October. An interest meeting for this project will be held on February 2nd at 4 p.m. and February 7th at 6 p.m. Sign up for the Zoom meeting to learn more about this awesome project. Deadline to register for the Feather Classic project is February 10th at 5 p.m.
Youth in Caswell, Durham, Orange & Person Counties are encouraged to participate
Registration will give youth the opportunity to:
- Raise six chicks from 1 great breed of egg layers (either Black Australorp or Barred Rock)
- Participate in three great trainings
- Participate in the 4-H record book program
- Participate in a chicken themed escape room
- Show your hens in the 4-H Feather Classic on October 7th
