Alzheimer's event

Join us on Wednesday, November 16th from 10:00 a.m.  – 12:00 p.m. at the Person County Office Building Auditorium at 304 South Morgan Street in Roxboro for this FREE Alzheimer’s Awareness event. We will have 2 workshops at this event as well as organizational vendor booths to visit.

Alzheimer’s and other dementias cause memory, thinking, and behavior changes that interfere with daily living. Learn from an Alzheimer’s Community Educator and Extension Agent with the N.C. Cooperative Extension about the common warning signs of Alzheimer’s and what symptoms to look for in yourself and others, as well as tips to approach someone who is experiencing changes in their memory, the benefit of early detection and diagnosis, and more.

Then Lisa Roberts, the Executive Director for the Eastern NC Alzheimer’s Association will teach their free educational program called Caregiving During the Holidays. This program is designed to teach caregivers to care for themselves, their loved ones, and about holiday safety all while giving suggestions that may make the holidays more enjoyable for caregivers and their loved ones.
