COVID-19 Vaccine for Farmers, Farmworkers and Farm Labor Contractors

— Written By

As of March 3, 2021, Governor Roy Cooper has made farmers, farmworkers and farm labor contractors eligible to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. Vaccine supplies are limited and access varies by county.

Therefore, the date of availability in Person County has not been determined. However, the Person County Health Department and Cooperative Extension are working together to gather information and assist in making the process as seamless as possible.

Cooperative Extension needs to communicate with farmers to obtain the following information:

  • Are you and/or your workers interested in taking the vaccine?
  • How many people in your operation will be getting the vaccine? (Estimate)
  • Provide your contact number for the Health Department to contact you to schedule an appointment.
  • If your farmworkers will be arriving later in the season, please advise. (There will be several clinics to accommodate these workers and others at a later date.)

You must go online and complete the survey to provide the above information at: https://go.ncsu.edu/person_farmer_covid19 or you can call us at 336-599-1195 to provide the information.

The Person County Health Department will call and set up an appointment for you and your workers. This may take more than one event. (THESE VACCINES WILL BE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.)
