Crop Report for July 27, 2020

— Written By

A little bit of relief on Wednesday with cooler temps but not much rain with it kind of spotty. Insect trap activity was low on stinkbugs, tobacco bud worm, black cutworm, and corn borer. Army worm moth flight has been higher this past week. Sugar cane aphid counts seem to be lower at this time. All crops still under drought and heat stress. Look out for dry weather pests such as spider mites moving in from the field edges. Also, I am seeing yellow spots in soybean fields – some of that is drought and heat stress, but keep an eye on those fields as it could be disease setting in from the plants being stressed.
