As we move through these difficult times, all of us at North Carolina Cooperative Extension are here to support our communities and community partners. One of those ways is helping to provide education and resources to prevent hunger through our More In My Basket Program.

The More In My Basket program provides outreach and education on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or (SNAP) also known in North Carolina as Food and Nutrition Services or (FNS). Residents learn from extension agents and More In My Basket Staff about eligibility of SNAP benefits, background on using the EBT card, approved foods that can be purchased through SNAP, and financial tips like budgeting.

Although, face-to-face More In My Basket Programming is not available at this time, More In My Basket staff are also available to contact on their website in English and Spanish/Español. Their staff are here to help with eligibility screenings, and assistance with completing an application for SNAP benefits. Be sure to check out their website in English morefood.org or Spanish/Español: es.morefood.org for more information on this outreach program.

You can also reach them at their English Hotline: (919) 515-9568/(919) 513-4565 or their Spanish/Español Hotline: (919) 515-9568 for eligibility screening and SNAP/FNS application assistance. Don’t be afraid to reach out!
