In response to COVID-19, beginning March 30, 2020, the N.C. Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services labs will only accept samples deemed to be essential. “Essential samples” are defined as “diagnostic samples,” which are those samples that are being tested to resolve an issue a grower or producer may be having in relation to the crop or product they are currently growing or producing. Any nonessential samples would include routine soil samples from homeowners will not be accepted after the previously mentioned date.
